As the hours of daylight are diminishing here in the Yukon, we are actively planning and creating some amazing new trips for 2012. With Yurtville down and safely stored for another year, we are able to let our imaginations run wild! We’re thinking a little biking, maybe adding a little fishing, definitely followed by a lot of good eating. Or how does learning to smoke your own salmon sound? Our Chef Carol is dreaming up the best ways for you to experience life as a Northerner and of course, her favourite way of doing so is through delicious culinary escapades. We’re getting hungry just looking at the photos!
Also in the works are more of our super popular multi-activity trips. A little taster of our great lifestyle in the Yukon. We will be rolling these out shortly and announcing on our facebook, twitter and blog. Lots of great things coming up for couples.
Think Yukon for your next trip. It is an awesome experience!
What a fantastic season! We’ve had the pleasure of riding with great folks from all over North America this past season. Loads of laughter at yurtville and great times on the trails. Well, we all know that every day on the bike is a great day!
We will be posting our Best Of pictures for this season soon on our facebook page. Sylvain has already added a few great autumn riding photos. Please check them out at www.facebook.com/borealebiking.
Well, the sun is shining, the latte is steaming and the chairs on the bluff are crying out for attention. After weeks of rain, it is finally a gorgeous day in Whitehorse!
I hope you have a great day on the bike, where ever you are!

We just wrapped up our first annual Summer Solstice trip. We had a great group that arrived pumped to experience life as a Yukoner. We had a blast hiking at 11pm, mountain biking through the forest and conquering the mountains in Kluane National Park. By day 4 everyone was definitely on “Yukon Time” and we headed out for a 10.30pm mountain bike ride last night. The crew returned full of smiles, and admittedly a little tired, at 12:30am! A perfect ending to their Summer Solstice experience.
You have to love Yukon summers! Finally, there is a place where there really are enough hours in the day! To finish our trip, the crew settled into a bicycle blended margarita assembly line!

Starting tomorrow is our Ride and Reach mountain bike and yoga retreat with Ryan Leech. Can’t wait
Enjoy the long weekend everyone. Ride safe!
We are now in day 2 of our Dan Barham photo clinic and wow - lots of photos! Under Dan’s tutelage, our photographers in-training have been out riding and shooting all day and night. We are taking full advantage of our summer solstice midnight sun! Tonight the crew left at 8.30pm to climb the local Grey Mountain to capture the shooting possibilities during our long ‘golden light’ period. Tomorrow morning will be spend with coffees in hand and learning the tricks of the trade for processing and editing photo shoots.
It has been a fantastic few days. Tomorrow night the crew will be shooting the local mountain bike club’s twoonie race so they can capture the feeling of shooting while under pressure!
Great times and we are looking forward to seeing the final slide show!
The 3rd annual CMBC mountain bike season kick off race, Boogaloo to Boréale, is set for Friday, May 27! Registration starts at 6.30pm at Magnassun parking lot on Grey Mountain road. The race starts at 7pm and costs $10 for CMBC members. If you are not yet a member, you may register at 6.30pm. The race finishes at Boréale’s yurtville on Long Lake Road.
In addition to the usual race course over Boogaloo trails, we have added a fun, short course for the non-racers that love to mountain bike. Same start time and place. Come on out and have a fun Friday night pedal!
At the finish line we’ve lined up a great band to help you dance away any early season mtb aches and a Yukon Brewing beer garden to quench your thirst. Race fee includes a BBQ for all participants in the race/fun course. This is an outdoor event, so please be sure to pack after-ride clothes. An entire suit of fleece is COMPLETELY acceptable at yurtville!
Come on out; meet new friends and hit the trails with old riding buddies! Shoot us an email if you have any questions about the night.
Let’s ride!
