24 Hours of Light Mountain Bike Race

Jun. 23 2010

Each year Whitehorse hosts a 24 Hours of Light Mountain Bike race. This year the race is June 26-27, 2010. One of the only rules is no lights allowed or required! The course is about 14 kilometres and a mix of single and double track. We usually get about 150-200 riders from around North America. If you are in the area, you should think of signing up! Great door prizes, our chief of fun knows how to keep the energy high for the entire 24 hours!

Summer solstice midnight ride!

Jun. 21 2010

Today is the longest day of the year. What better way to celebrate than by riding bikes under the midnight sun? Meet at the parking lot across from El Camino trail head, beside the biathlon range. We will leave our black van at the bottom of Grey Mountain to shuttle back up to the cars when we are done. Meet at 11:45pm and we start riding at midnight!

See you there!

Yukon summer 2010

Jun. 8 2010

Summers in the Yukon are something else. Endless daylight, happy people, mountain bike trips in every direction and somehow amongst all this energy there is a fun feeling of relaxation. We don’t take ourselves too seriously here, and fun is the main item on the agenda. Time is not important here!

Our riding season started about 3 weeks early and our local mountain bike club has seen record participation on both group rides and organized races. Wicked! Lots of sunshine and just enough rain makes our trails fast and fun. It is amazing to see how big our local mountain bike community is growing!

Boréale Mountain Biking was lucky enough to be featured in a Globe and Mail article. We were the cover story in their travel section of the Saturday edition of the newspaper. Amazing Canadian exposure and our phone has been ringing off the hook.

If you are thinking about a trip to the Yukon to sample our singletrack, I would aim for the next two weeks. Weather is amazing and we have a few spots open. Treat yourself!
