This multi-sport 4 day trip taps into some of our local secrets and shows you how to act like a local during our favourite time of year – summer solstice! With almost constant day light, you will be amazed at the energy you will have and all the fun activities we can accomplish in a never ending day! During a summer Yukon night, the fun doesn’t stop after dinner. Each evening we will offer some sort of activity to get out and aid digestion from our meal and to enjoy the midnight sun!

What to Bring:
Summers in the Yukon are generally quite temperate and it is a semi-arid environment, meaning we don’t really receive a lot of rain. Average temperatures range from day time highs of approximately 20°C/65°F to possible night time lows of 5°C/40°F.
Clothing: We love layers and recommend people bring a rain jacket, fleece jacket and comfortable clothes for lounging around the yurts after a day’s ride. Comfortable hiking boots too!
On Bike: For riding, we recommend people bring their usual cycling attire such as shoes, padded bike shorts, shorts, t-shirts, long sleeved shirts & pants, wind breaker, full fingered cycling gloves, sunglasses, and a backpack or hydration pack.
We do have a limited supply of full suspension Norco Fluids available for rent for our package clients. They are rented for an additional $40.00 CAD per day.

Yukoners love summer solstice and revel in all the extra daylight. You will too! Each evening we will offer optional activities that clients may participate in to enjoy the midnight sun. We are very flexible with these items and will be offering them based on want and interest of the clients. Activities may include alpine hike, late night bike ride or a walk around Long Lake, our local swimming lake.
Day 1 – June 23, 2012
Our trip will start at 10am today, kicking the trip off with a delicious locally roasted Midnight Sun coffee at yurtville, while we go over the solstice week itinerary. After coffee, we will be fitted for our mountain bikes and start day 1!
Overlooking Whitehorse and beyond, our local Grey Mountain trail network is a mountain biking paradise. The trails gently swoop up and down, weaving through the boreal forest. Spectacular views of the Whitehorse valley and the coastal mountains near Carcross accompany us throughout the ride.
Day 2 – June 24, 2012
After a delicious breakfast we will head out for a paddle on the famous Yukon River. After we float past and explore the historical Canyon City from Gold Rush days of yore, we will make our way through the scenic Miles Canyon to our end destination of Schwatka Lake.
Day 3 – June 25, 2012
Today we explore the Canadian jewel, Kluane National Park. Kluane is home to the mighty Mount Logan and the St. Elias mountain range, which showcases Canada’s top 5 highest peaks. We will cruise Kathleen Lake accompanied by a local First Nation elder who share his stories of the surrounding shores. Once back on shore, we connect with a gorgeous hiking trail with amazing views. Kluane National Park is a wild and stunningly beautiful area in our world and we are thrilled to share it with you!
Day 4 – June 26, 2012
Longest day of the year! We will start in the alpine of Mount McIntyre, admiring the views of the Whitehorse valley and towards Fish Lake. We can even see all the way to Lake Laberge, the lake made famous in the Robert Service poem The Cremation of Sam McGee. As we start the descent back to Whitehorse, we will ride through many different ecosystems, starting in the alpine right down to the valley floor.
Day 5 – June 27, 2012
After our final breakfast and delicious Midnight Sun coffee to go, your guide will transport you back to the airport in time to catch your flight back to reality!
Our company has a special airfare deal with Air North, Yukon’s Airline, making the total trip price $435 CAD from Vancouver/Calgary/Edmonton-Whitehorse return with an extra $25 per direction for bicycle transport, payable at check-in counter. This airfare deal needs to be booked via Boréale Explorers.
